Get On Top of Search Engines

You can make a web site anytime you want, make it look great, and put quality content in it, but if your site does not have SEO touch to it, the site may just very well be not published at all because nobody would know it. In this regard, you need to know how to top in major search engines and make your web site known to Internet users worldwide.

One thing that you need to do is to not buy a new domain unless you really need to buy one. Search engines would look at the longevity of domains most of the time. If you buy a new domain, it will mean loss in traffic as search engines will bring you back at the bottom even if you use the same name or keywords from your last domain.

Some web designers think it is good to optimize your site for the search engines itself. This is not a good practice because targeting your audience is much more effective. The thing about Internet users these days is they do not like something being forced to them. Even if Google puts you on top, if the user finds out the keywords used were simply for optimization purposes and does not really have what they are looking for, they will end up leaving your site even before the pages fully load.

Things to Avoid When Web Designing

Creating a web site can be tons of fun. You can find a lot of possibilities and you can easily mix and match stuff to create a nice look for the site that you work on, but still, a lot of people would commit grave mistakes that can affect the design of their site and traffic of visitors as a result.

An important thing that you need to remember when creating a web site is to never use every single feature that your provider is offering you. Just because a tool is offered to you for free, it does not mean you really need it. Keep in mind that majority of Internet users all over the world does not like look at a web site that looks messier than their laundry room. Making things simple without too much of the flashy stuff is a lot better than putting tons of pictures and videos in one web page. Plus, it makes the page load faster.

A mistake that most web designers commit is publishing an “Under Construction” page for those that they have not finish yet. While it looks cool to have some funny images of people constructing a building or road, this should be avoided. Instead, just do not publish it if it is not yet finished.
